It was time for me to replace my existing flooring in my home and I was unsure whether to stick with carpet or go for the more contemporary laminate flooring. I now had two small children and the carpets in my hall, lounge and dining room were constantly being cleaned from spills and muddy feet, and also not helped by my husband’s memory problem of removing his work boots before walking the length of the house from the front door to the kitchen.
I decided to shop around and see what prices I would get for both types of flooring, I went on the Internet and found many carpet shops in my home town of Shrewsbury that sold both carpet and laminate flooring but by far the cheapest was the DIY stores that sold laminate flooring, the only problem with buying the laminate flooring from a DIY store was that they did not have any fitters to install the laminate flooring yet most of the carpet shops had their own fitters.
With all the sizes of my rooms and the prices of the laminate flooring from the DIY shop which did not include fitting and the prices from the carpet shops that did include fitting I decide to find out if anyone did just the laminate fitting in Shrewsbury without supplying the laminate. I searched on the Internet for laminate fitting in Shrewsbury and one website seemed to have several adverts throughout the page of search results, I decided to click on the advert and go to view the website. The website was of a carpet fitter in Shrewsbury that also fitted a wide variety of other flooring including laminate flooring, I gave him a call and asked for a quote for fitting the laminate in my home, his price of fitting plus the price of the laminate flooring from the DIY shop came in an awful lot cheaper than purchasing the laminate from a carpet shop and having the carpet shop fitters fit the laminate flooring for me. It is now six months since my laminate has been fitted throughout my house and it still looks as good as the day that he fitted it.
